## About

The NAC Lecture Concert is a commentary-style performance designed to make classical music more accessible and friendly. It is the fourth and final stage of the Package A 'From Classical to Romantic' series (Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert). It tells the life and music of Schubert, the 'Sorrowful Wanderer' who composed over 1,200 works during his short life of 31 years.

Following the Overture D.26 composed at age 15 and the Konzertstück for Violin D.345 composed just before age 20, the concert concludes with the masterpiece Symphony No. 8 'Unfinished'. Music critic Ryu Tae-hyeong will provide the commentary, and clarinetist and conductor Baek Dong-hoon will lead the Busan Symphony Orchestra. Ryu Tae-hyeong served as a guest music reporter for the JoongAng Ilbo and editor-in-chief of the monthly magazine Auditorium, while Baek Dong-hoon is the associate conductor of the Kookje Shinmun Orchestra and principal of the Busan Symphony Orchestra.

Dressing the city in classics! Busan puts on classical music!!

The NAC Lecture Concert series "From Classical to Romantic" comes to the Concert Hall of Nakdong Art Center, our city's newest venue. The series is designed to make classical music easier to enjoy and closer to everyone.

Melody and poetic Romanticism blooming on a Classical frame: Schubert!

As temperatures drop and winter sets in, the first composer who comes to mind is Schubert of "Winterreise." In the fourth and final concert of "From Classical to Romantic," we follow Beethoven with Schubert, the bridge between Classicism and Romanticism. Clarinetist and conductor Dong-Hoon Paik leads the Busan Symphony Orchestra, while music critic Taehyung Ryu tells the story of Schubert, the "wanderer of sorrow" who wrote more than 1,200 works in his short life of 31 years. From the Overture, D.26, written at 15, which reveals his genius, to the lyrical and elegant melodies of the Konzertstück for violin, D.345, composed just before he turned 20, and finally the immortal Symphony No. 8 "Unfinished," this concert will deepen your love for Schubert, who dressed the formal foundations of Beethoven's era in poetic Romantic sensibility and beautiful melody, leading the shift to 19th-century Romantic music. You can also feel the transcendent power of Schubert's music as it moves between this world and the next.
