“A story resembling your day A quiet comfort offered by young artists of Busan”

The '2026 Emerging Young Artists Incubating and Career Development Support Program', hosted by Busan Metropolitan City and the Busan Cultural Center Foundation, is designed to provide local young artists with practical creative opportunities and stage experience while fostering a sustainable local arts and culture ecosystem. Through auditions, this project discovers emerging artists and builds a foundation for developing creative capabilities by guiding them through the entire production process. Previously, the program expanded the scope of Busan's young artists through works across various genres, such as <Super Tiger> combining dance and traditional Korean music, the original musical <Baseball King, Marines!>, and the play <Romeo and Juliet>. In 2026, it continues another stage experiment with the puppet show <His Day>.

<His Day> is a work that follows a day in the life of a person gradually tiring within a repetitive daily routine, quietly observing the emotions and memories embedded in an ordinary day. Moments easily overlooked and unspoken feelings unfold one by one on stage, leading the audience to confront their own days.

Featuring young actors from Busan, this production attempts a new stage language through puppetry in collaboration with partner organization 'Arts Stage SAN'. Through this, the project aims to establish a stepping stone for young artists to grow as creators in the local region and to develop works that resonate with contemporary audiences. <His Day> is not extravagant, but it tells a relatable story that offers quiet comfort to the audience at the end of an exhausting day.

A fairytale for adults comforting your today

Repeated job interviews, endless rejections, and rent and utility bills flocking in like birds. The tiring day of 'him', a job seeker, continues today. After a long wait, he finally lands a job on a fixed-term contract. But is the place he arrived at truly the life he had dreamed of?

Through his day where laughter and bitterness intersect, we look back with a warm gaze upon the present day of youth living through an anxious reality, and upon the lives of us all.
